Night on the town in Luton

Last night we finally went out and got drunk... much to my happiness, i've been campaigning for a drunk night for the last 3 nights- which has included drinking alone i'm afraid.

We headed upstairs to watch the football game- mexico vs angola- nil,nil and encouraged the boys to pre-drink even though we were going to the pub before the 'club'. after a few drinks, some chocolate chip rice cakes (thanks kaleigh) and crutons (melissa's running out of fooe) we headed to the Whitehouse... a louge- type place where they also have a dance floor. Melissa says the guys here are shy- not the 40 year olds tho, there were a few hanging around which isn't creepy at all. I exhibited enormus self restraint when some guy slapped my ass, not punching him this time.
We then headed to FUnCKED- notice the clever name, it was a club with three dance floors, after 3 minutes of techno we were all over the 70's and 80's room- cause who doens't love a little Madonna and Wham? we shimmied and night at the roxbury-ed up a storm. melissa's guy friends were pretty good too, they actually dance in europe (unfortunatley with each other sometimes)and greg gave my shimmy a run for its money. Melissa was the only one with a watch, and really how can u leave all 80's night? so it was 3am when we decided to call it a night.
the walk home was fun- stop at the chip shop, kristin and greg racing (she won...kind of) and the inevitable drunen Lutonians walking the streets.
Overall, a solid night in preparation for the debokery to come...
~jenn

Visiting the Queen

Kristin and Jen and I went into London today to see the Queen, now she was supposed to be coming out of Buckingham Palace in a carridge, this is what prompted the trip into London today... its her 80th birthday celebrations (yet her real bday was in April...hmmm) unfortunaltey we went out last night and when the alarm went off this morning at 7:45 it just wasn't happening, so after a late and hung over start, trip to McDonalds for the much-needed greese it provides to cure hangovers, we got to the palace. It turns out Liz thinks shes too good for the carriage and instead stood on her balcony for about 10 minutes surrounded by what we thought was Prince Harry, William and Charles among others but it was really hard to tell. Kristin got a good pic of her waving tho, so that's kind of exciting.
Next we went on to the typical touristy stuff- pic with the guard, National Gallery in Trafalgar square, etc.

so then i had the idea that i should show jen and kristin how to take the Tube b/c they have to do it themselves on Monday... so we buy our tickets and i'm in my 'London-fast walking' mode, so theres a train there and i jump on and the doors start to beep, warning they are going to close and i look behind me to realize that they are not actually right behind me... oppps so jen throws herself into the train but kristin- although a noble attempt is too slow and these subways wait for no one. so its at this point that i realize kristin wasn't listening as i was outlining our route and probably doesn't understand my frantic hand signals- get on next train and get off after 1 stop. I'm right- after waiting for 4 trains to go by we realize that she is not coming, so i have to go back to Charing Cross and there's Kristin- following her mom's advice, when ur lost, stay put. haha. i'm not worried at all about travelling with these two street smart ppl for the next 25 days... nope, not at all.
